During Operation Barbarossa, Walter von Reichenau remained in command of the Sixth Army, which captured the cities of Kiev and Kharkov, among others.

He urged his troops to murder the Jews and was directly responsible for the killing of a group of ninety Jewish children from Blejaja Zerkov, whose parents had already been murdered.
This photograph shows him in Russia in 1941. He was killed in January 1942.

The photograph is attached to a piece of cardboard from a photo album and can be carefully removed.
