Friedrich-Wilhelm Wangerin (27 January 1915 – 13 November 2002) was a highly decorated Hauptmann during World War II and a Oberstleutnant in the Bundeswehr. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.

This legacy consists of some very special items including seven photographs, a membership card of the Knight's Cross club where he was clearly injured in his left eye, this card is from the war and his 1940 engagement card.
