Dear Oka!
First a card to show you how beautifully situated our camp is - in the middle of a pine forest by a large lake. Even though the shift is tough and the work dirty, everyone enjoys this scenery and only hopes that it will be a beautiful memory. I will write more about the goings-on here in a letter. Today is Sunday, the sun is shining, the lake is glistening, the birds are chirping, the pines stand out dark and fragrant against the blue image of the sky, and this silent camp - only the calls of the service men and the cheers of the groups can be heard from time to time.
