German photo album of the 89th Infantry Regiment / 22nd Infantry Division with many Knight's Cross recipients. Eastern Front

€350.00

This photo album contains photos of a member of the 89th Infantry Regiment, part of the 22nd Infantry Division at the time of deployment on the Eastern Front.

This album contains many details and a wealth of information.

It also includes a number of very interesting and rare items:

  • The album contains photos of several Knight's Cross recipients. One of them is most likely Johannes Block )In addition to facial recognition, one of the photos shows that the man is wearing a star-shaped medal under his Knight's Cross. This is not the Pour Le Mérite but the Ottoman War Medal).
  • There are many photos of indigenous people. Most of them are living in appalling conditions. This gives a very good impression of the conditions on this side of the front.
  • The vehicles and photos contain markings that provide a lot of information.

The album is in reasonable to good condition considering its age. The binding is good and sturdy. Some transparent interleaves are slightly damaged.
