Although the sabre suggests that this is a non-commissioned officer, the rank on the collar and epaulettes clearly does not indicate this. This man is probably an Obergefreiter of some standing, given the pose in the portrait. It is also clear that he has been awarded the Iron Cross.

The photo card is in used condition and has some water stains and pen marks on the reverse.
